Spring Inspiration Pink By Design Blog Hop

Welcome to the Spring Inspiration Pink By Design Blog Hop. There are so many great projects on all the blogs. Make sure you start at Pink By Design. Today our inspiration is the colors and designs in this photo.

I used Close To My Heart papers from the Florentine Collection. I love the colors in this collection and they instantly seemed to go with the colors in the inspiration photo and the colors in my photo's.
The photos were taken on the beach in South Carolina at sunset so their on the dark side. Sorry for the bad pictures. Our Sunday was busy and I didn't get to take pictures until after dark and the lights in my scrapbook room didn't do well tonight

I used the Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the banner and it goes great with the Pink By Design Small Banner stamp set. I've found I use these banner stamps on so many layouts and cards. And I love that they will fit with the Art Philosophy cartridge too. The letters come in the Small Banner set so they fit perfect in each banner.
I distressed all the edges of the papers and the banner with Cocoa ink from CTMH. Both blue edges were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge too. The flowers, brads and buttons were from my stock.

We would love for you to make a project to share. Follow the inspiration photo and make sure you link it back to Pink By Design. Also please make sure you link up by midnight on the 8th of April.

Lori is the next stop on the blog hop. Check out her project at Scrappin My Stress Away.

Here is the whole line up so you don't miss anyone along the way.

With Love Card with Art Philosophy Cartridge

This is a card I made for my sister last week when she had surgery. I didn't have much time so it was a quick and easy design.

I'm having so much fun with the Art Philosophy cartridge. Its fast becoming my favorite. My favorite thing is picking out the Close to My Heart stamp I want to use and than being able to cut the exact image I need with this cartridge.

The card base and layer were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge. The two tags were stamped with CTMH stamps and the tags were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge. This cartridge is so versatile. I love this stamp that lets you check which occasion you want and has a few lines so you can add a personal message.  I used a Prima flower I had in my stash and a pearl brad from Target. The green rickrack is from my stack and so is the button. The green twine is from Pink By Design.

My project for today, the second day of the hop is another birthday card. I make all the cards I send to our families thru out the year, so I have to make LOTS of cards. This card is for my nephews. Its another card I scrap lifted but this time it was from Love Life Crafts. She designed it on her Gypsy and I couldn't find the exact same cuts that she had but I also used my Gypsy.

I welded the wings from the Indie Art cartridge with a circle from Accent Essentials.  I'm not great at making shadows fit the image yet. Especially if it doesn't come with a shadow feature. But it's good enough for the little guys. I drew the lines on the grey wings because they were looking very plain. The basket ball was ran thru my Cuttlebug with the Tiny bubbles folder. Before I put it thru the embosser my husband drew the basketball lines for me. I also ran the background paper thru with the A2 Stars folder. I cut the background paper down leaving spaces inbetween for added interest. I rounded the edges. I couldn't find basketball ribbon so I used orange and black ribbon I had on hand. So quick and easy.

I have another giveaway for today and YES you can win both prizes if Random.org chooses your numbers both days. So please become a follower and leave a comment with your contact info. Make sure you check back on March 16 when I pick a winner for both days. This is open to US residents only. Todays prize is a $10.00 Gift Certificate to use on a stamp set at Close To My Heart. Our projects for the hop are birthday themed so today I have a birthday card for our nephew. I saw this card on Heather's blog House Built of Cards. She makes wonderful cards and this one seemed perfect for my nephew. Papercrafters are wonderful about sharing inspiration. You can make the design exactly as the original designer made it or you can use it and make it your own.

If you go to Heather's blog you will see I've kept the basic design the same but changed the papers. I used Pink By Design stamps, Cowgirl Up. I've made it smaller to fit in the envelope I have on hand.

The frame is cut from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge. And the cute little cowboy is cut from A Childs Year cartridge, the design on him is part of the paper design. I used the shadow feature so the little cowboy stands out from the background paper. I also used pop dots so raise him up and give him some dimension. I used a white gel pen to add the white "stitching" around the edges.

Bobby Jo has her wonderful give away but I also have a giveaway for today. Become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment.. You must be a US resident and make sure you check back on March 16 when I pick the winner.

New End Caps for the E2

I was so excited to get the new pink end caps for the E2. I ordered them as soon as I saw them on Cricut.com. I put them on right away but I hadn't had time to post pictures.  This is my sweet little E2 all plain and sad looking.

All you need is a small phillips screwdriver. The screws came out very easy.

This is what it looks like when you have the end caps off. She's very plain.

Each end cap has an Lor R on the inside top of the end cap so you know which side to put it on.
With the end caps I received the left side went on very easy but the right side was a bit snug.

As you can see it didn't quite go all the way over the edge. I had to maneuver it a bit to get it to go over the edge.

When I did get it snapped on it still didn't fit just right. The screw hole is off and the bottom edge didn't line up. I had to put the screw in at an angle and it went right in.

Here it is with both end caps and a little bling that I added. I had wanted to dress her up a bit but hadn't taken the time. She's starting to look good.

I used Cricut black vinyl and named her Paper Memories. The vinyl went on very easy and cut like a dream with the E2 too.

I love the vinyl and bling. And the end caps look great! Now the green "Cricut" sign is something I could do with out. Green isn't my favorite color but we know Cricut is all about green. Now to find more time to play with my E2 now that she's all dressed up.
