Cruisin Pure Adventure Card

This is such a quick and easy card, my favorite kind of card. And it's extra quick because I scraplifted the idea from a fellow Close To My Heart consultant. I wish I could find her name. If you see this card and it looks similar Please let me know so I can give proper credit.

Forgive the glare on the picture. I took a quick picture when I had it in a clear envelope. I used the map paper from the Cruisin paper pack and matted it with black cardstock. It's a great time to use scraps. I used the Pure Adventure stamp set and stamped the banner image in black on the card and a second time on a scrap piece of paper and cut the top banner section out with scissors. I then stamped the "Incredible" title on the scrap banner. I used glue pop dots to raise the top banner. This makes a great card for teen boys or men for any occasions.

Heart Shaped Bag with the Art Philosophy Cartridge

I love working with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. There are so many quick, easy and fun projects on it. This is a quick little heart shaped bag. I used the Lucy paper from Close To My Heart. The flowers were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge too, it has so many cute flowers.

Seam Binding Flowers

The first time I saw this layout in the Florentine Workshop On The Go Kit I noticed the flowers right away and loved them. I’m not really an orange girl but it’s becoming  a fast favorite. And I just can’t get enough of the orange flowers!
The centers of the flowers are made with Color Ready Seam Binding. These wonderful flowers can be made in any color and any size. The  Color Ready Seam Binding will take on any color ink you add to it. I love the idea of a ribbon that I can change to match any paper at any time. I used a Sponge Dauber  to add the ink and then leave the ribbon to dry for at least 30 minutes before you adhere it to the cardstock flowers.  When your ribbon is dry tie a knot in the end of the ribbon and start twisting the ribbon and twirling it around the center knot, when you come to the end of the ribbon put the tail underneath. Add Liquid Glass to the center of the flower and put your ribbon in the Liquid Glass. Push down softly and let dry. I use Liquid Glass for so many things. If you buy the Florentine Workshop On The Go Kit the seam binding comes with the kit. Give it a try, these flowers are so cute!

Simply Elegant Card

I always appreciate cards that can be made quickly.  This week I needed to make several cards quickly and I wanted them to look great in a short amount of time. This card fit that bill perfectly. And nothing says elegant like black and white.  Another wonderful and very talented  Close To My Heart consultant made the original card that I scraplifted. I wish I could find her name, I've looked and looked and haven't found it. If you recognize this card as your design please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.

I used the C size stamp set that comes in the Pemberly Workshop On The Go.  I used the large flower and stamped an 8 1/2x 11 sheet of paper in less than 2 minutes, using black ink. I than cut the paper and black mat to fit my A2 size card. I used sentiments from Card Chatter - Sympathy and the Pemberly stamp set.  I used sheer ribbon I had in my stock. So quick, easy and elegant.

You can find me on my Facebook page at Close To My Heart- Dana Taft. You can look on my Facebook page for upcoming workshops and crops.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! Easter is a wonderful time to remember the wondrous sacrifice of the Lord. Our family also spent time together for dinner and an egg hunt for the kids. Our family gathering was a bit on the small side this year. My youngest sister spent time with her in laws and my youngest brother was at the Masters in Georgia. They were missed! Between dinner and the egg hunt some of us spent time watching TV, hoping to see Derek in the crowd. :)

Before everyone arrived we had the Easter baskets for the kids. Ok, I know my kids are 27 and 25. But a Momma still needs to do Easter baskets.

And for the fur babies too! It was almost as much fun picking out things for their baskets.

I hope you all had a blessed Easter and was able to spend time with your families.

April Layout Workshop

It seems everyone has been busy working on cute Easter and spring projects but I've been busy making layouts. I have 3 two page layouts for my April 27 workshop. We'll be using the Florentine paper pack from Close To My Heart. I'm loving the papers in this pack. I'm not really an orange person but the patterned paper is adorable. I revamped the layout I did for the Pink By Design blog hop.

All the papers and supplies will be cut and ready to go. I will have the stamps and inks for all the layouts.  The title reads "Our family is our link to the past and our bridge to the future" The banner under the title reads "FAMILY"  This second photo  shows the "Add On" metal embellishments that you can use. The metal plates read "timeless moments".
There are 2 more two page layouts that we'll make that night. All the layouts can go together or be used separately. And there all gender neutral, with the addition or subtraction of embellishments will work for any type of pictures.
The flowers, banner, title frame and side scrolls are cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge.
You will also receive one stamp set that we will use at the workshop and  all of the extra papers from the kit. If your interested or have questions please email me at papermemories4u@yahoo.com

Eagle Ridge Ladies Church Retreat

I was going thru pictures that I hadn't blogged about and found this one from a church retreat. We have a long history with the wonderful women we went to the retreat with. My daughter, Erica and Ashley became best friends when we started going to the same church. The girls got along great! Ashley's Mom, Thelma and I became best friends and a bond was made forever. Several years later Ashley moved to Illinois and invited us to her churches retreat in Galena, Il.

The resort was beautiful in the fall. We had a condo with a 3 seasons room looking out on the lake. It was a bit chilly the day we had lunch out there but worth the view.
So many fun memories from that weekend!
